Project Description
How Persian Rugs are Woven
Parts of this section can be viewed for free under LESSONS
Rugs are typically named after the rug weaving region. For example, Kerman rugs were woven in the city of Kerman in Iran. All the rugs woven in Kerman look the same from the back of the rug which helps in identification. Depending on how far you wish to go, this book will provide you with all the information you need to begin identifying rugs.
The first step in identifying rugs is to understand how they are woven. This section is a step-by-step guide to how rugs are woven.
Do not be intimidated by the process. You do not need to literally know how to weave to fully grasp and appreciate the concepts in this book. A fine meal prepared masterfully by a renowned chef will not prevent you from thoroughly enjoying the smells, taste and the wonderful experience – even if you can’t boil an egg!
You need to just trust your eyes as this is a visual experience.
